The Defences of Macau with Richard Garrett

posted 17 Dec 2012, 03:50 by John Leighton
The November 2012 meeting of the OMRS Hong Kong branch took place at 8pm on Tuesday 27th November in the Gallery Room of the Police
Officers’ Club.  There was an excellent turn-out for a fascinating talk by Richard, accompanied by a detailed slide show.

Richard outlined, based on his book The Defences of Macau', the history of the said defences throughout the whole of the almost five hundred years of Portuguese administration.   Members were rightly very appreciative of Richard for his talk and he was able to answer a number of questions afterwards.   It was discussed as well, that perhaps the branch might like to organise a weekend visit to Macau to explore the said defences.

Richard's book is available here from the University of Hong Kong Press.
