On 26th September 2012 the OMRS Hong Kong branch was honoured to have David Bellis join us at the Police Officers Club to give a presentation about old Hong Kong, as seen through the eyes of the brains behind   Please do visit the website, and it's active forums, for some fascinating photographs and historical tit-bits.

David's talk, titled  ‘Photos of Old Hong Kong and the Tales They Tell’, started with a photograph is a rat collection box strapped to a lamp-post in 1950s Central, and we went through a whole variety of photographs discussing the contents, and how the photographs came into his possession, as well as the forum community on his website, and indeed about running the website itself.

His photographs date from between the 1880s and the 1960s, and his website hosts over  5,900 photos of them, all about old Hong Kong. Well worth a visit and we are grateful to David for his time in coming to share with us.

As usual, there was discussion and conviviality over a few beverages before and afterwards, and it was noted by many present to have been an excellent evening.
